The
driver of has to coax his vehicle across all sorts of obstacles and
ground conditions and still be in the right place at the right time so
that the information can be gathered; or, so that the gunner can engage
the enemy and be on target first time - there may not be a second chance.
Armoured training begins after you have successfully
completed the Army's 12-weeks basic training with the Guards Company at
Pirbright in Surrey. You will then go to Bovington to learn the skills
that turn good soldiers into first class crewmen, unless you go to the
Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment for two years first.
