The Blues and Royals Band

ENLISTMENT PROCEDURE
If you are interested in life as a musician in the Band of The Blues and Royals and want to find out more, we can arrange a look at life visit where you can spend a few days working with us. You will meet members of the Band and have an opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for the kind of life we lead. During this time, you may have an interview and an informal audition with the Director of Music, who will decide whether you are a suitable candidate to pursue your application. The enlistment procedure is available at your local Armed Forces Careers Office, but in outline it is as follows:

A. Visit the Band.
B. Army Entrance Test at the Careers Office.
C. A two-day visit to the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall in Twickenham for a formal audition and theoretical assessment.
D. Phase 1 Basic Military training at the Army Training Regiment in Winchester.
E. Phase 2 Training at RMSM, Kneller Hall.
F. Phase 3 Equitation Course at The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment in Knightsbridge.
G. Join the Band.
