The
Household Cavalry on BBC television
A major BBC 1
television series is shortly to be broadcast on the Household Cavalry.
For the past six months unprecedented access has been
given to filming all aspects of Britain’s most senior regiment
and the result is a fascinating insight behind the scenes of the regiment’s
ceremonial and military duties where one week they are on horseback,
escorting the Sovereign down the Mall and the next they are patrolling
the streets of Basra in their tanks.
These programmes are not to be missed. Soldiers of
the Household Cavalry tell their own stories of war and ceremonial
providing an illuminating, candid, dramatic and often very funny series
the like of which has never been seen before on mainstream television.
The series comprises
eight 30 minute programmes on BBC1 commencing on Thursday 29 September
at 8.30pm and running every Thursday thereafter until 17 November
2005.
